KB

Many forms ask for under 50 KB or 200 KB.

Choose a photo to crop it to the right size. Use a plain, light background and a picture taken straight on.

How it works

Choose a picture and pick the photo size. The preview shows exactly what will be saved, at 300 dots per inch, which is the usual print quality.

Use zoom and the move sliders to place the face in the middle and fill the frame the way your form asks. A plain, light background and a straight-on photo work best.

If your online form has a file size limit, such as 50 KB or 200 KB, enter it. The photo is saved at the best quality that fits.

For printing, make a sheet. It tiles as many photos as fit on a 4 × 6 inch or A4 page, ready for a print shop. Print at 100% size, without “fit to page”.

Good to know

Rules differ by country and by form. Common sizes are 35 × 45 mm for many passports and 2 × 2 inch (51 × 51 mm) for US visas. Always check the size, background, and head size your form asks for.

This tool crops and resizes. It does not remove or change the background, retouch, or check the photo against official rules.

If the picture is low resolution, a large zoom can make it blurry. Start with the largest photo you have.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The photo is opened and cropped in your browser and never leaves your device.

Which size do I need?

The one printed on your form or the website you are applying on. If you are unsure, check the official instructions for that application.

How do I get the file under a size limit?

Enter the limit in KB. The tool lowers the JPEG quality until the file fits. If it cannot, it tells you the smallest it could make.

Can I change the background to white?

Not here. Take the photo against a plain, light wall. Transparent areas in a PNG are filled with white.
