For planning, not for deciding. This tool gives estimates to help you plan and compare. It is not financial, tax, legal or medical advice, and it should not be the only thing you base a decision on. Check the numbers with your bank, lender, advisor or doctor before you act.

How it works

The tip is the percentage you choose, taken from the bill before the split. Enter 0 if you are only splitting the bill.

The total is divided equally between everyone. Tick the box to round each share up to a whole rupee, which makes paying by cash or UPI easier. The small extra is shown.

The formula

Each person pays = (bill + bill × tip ÷ 100) ÷ number of people

A worked example

A bill of ₹2,400 with a 10% tip split between 4 people is ₹2,640 in total, which is ₹660 each.

Frequently asked questions

Is the tip calculated before or after GST?

The tip is taken on the amount you enter. Enter the bill amount you want to tip on, with or without tax, as you prefer.

Does a service charge count?

If the bill already includes a service charge, you may not need to tip as well. Enter 0 for the tip to split the bill as it is.

Can I split unevenly?

No. This splits equally. For uneven splits, work out each person’s items separately.
